Few and simple ingredients are required to cook sarsoon ka saag:
Mustrad leaves or saag 4 bunches
Desi ghee 2 TBS
Garlic 2 bulb
Tomatoes 4
Green chilli 3
Salt 3 TBS
Red chilli flakes 2-1/2 TBS
Steps to cook Saag:
Wash and clean vegetable:
you need to wash bunch of Saag or green leaves in running water 3 to 4 times until clean.
Cut and Boil saag:
cut the whole bunches into smaller size and add it in boiling water (water quantity depends on the quantity of saag). cook it on higher flame until boils half an hour after than add Salt, Red chili flakes and cook it on low to medium flame overnight.
Cook saag/ Tarka:
Add cinnamon stick, whole pepper, cloves, garlic paste in sarson oil and cook on medium flame until garlic turns golden brown. Add green chilies and tomatoes cook them until soften than add boiled saag and cook for 5-10 minutes.
Serve with makai ki roti, butter milk and dollop of fresh butter.
